Manhole-to-manhole lining is the most cost effective way to rehabilitate a sewer main in a city. As the name implies, manhole-to-manhole lining is applied between manholes and is capable of filling entirely missing sections of pipe, seal cracking and seal joint connections and offsets. This method of rehabilitation is truly trenchless because it uses preexisting manholes to gain entrance into the product pipe.
Manhole-to-manhole lining is cost effective because of the ease of use and quick completion time. Once the flexible liner is in place, air pressure or steam is used to inflate the liner to the pipe walls and activate the thermosetting resins. In this manner, 200 meters of lining can be installed in an eight-hour workday. The lining not only rehabilitates the flow of the pipe but also its structural integrity. Once a pipe has been renovated with manhole-to-manhole lining, it is expected to add 50 years to its life expectancy.
