Geomorphic is an adjective based on the Classical Greek words geo- meaning “related to or of the earth” and -morph, “having a specified shape or form.” It describes the features of the Earth (such as rivers, streams, mountains, and valleys) and the Earth’s landscape, such as forests, deserts, high plains vegetation, farmland and urban forests. It may refer to geomorphic processes, such as a rock’s weathering and erosion, the movement of Earth’s tectonic plates, or fluvial or coastal processes.
