What Does Optical Tensiometry Mean?
Optical tensiometry is the method of characterizing properties of material surface and interfacial interactions between liquid, solid and gas phases. The optical tensiometer is also known as contact angle goniometer and can accurately measure static and dynamic contact angles.
The drop profiles used are sessile drop, meniscus, pendant drop, reverse pendant drop, receding contact angle, advancing contact angle and captive bubble. It can also measure parameters such as contact angle, surface tension, wettability, and absorption.
