What Does Horizontal Rotary Drilling Mean?
Horizontal rotary drilling is the mechanical installation of pipe or casing by rotating methods which do not use augers for the removal of spoil. This installation method uses a slurry of water and Bentonite to remove spoil. Similar to the wash bore method, this installation process is used in trenchless construction to bore 4 to 10 inch (10 cm-25 cm) holes in resistant strata. The process is also effective for silt and sand.
