The Wastewater Planning Users Group (WaPUG) Code of Practice is the former name of the currently issued CIWEM Urban Drainage Group Code of Practice for the Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems.
The document, first introduced in 1996, is intended to be used as a best practice guide for the hydraulic modeling of urban drainage systems. It was originally developed for use in the UK and Ireland but may also be used in other geographic locations at the discretion of the modeling engineer.

WaPUG was founded in 1982 as an advisory group on urban storm drainage. In April 2009, WaPUG officially became known as CIWEM Urban Drainage Group. The code of practice has naturally undergone revisions since its first issue, but the core contents have remained the same.
Hydraulic modeling of drainage systems entails using mathematical models to represent the physical characteristics of the drainage system including its topography and hydrology in an attempt to predict its behavior under specified conditions.
The code of practice covers the hydraulic modeling of both underground and overground drainage systems where below ground systems consist of sewers, highway drains, and culverted water crossings, and above ground systems include watercourses such as rivers, creeks, etc.
