A cement mortar liner is a type of pipelining which consists of a spray-on cement-based coating applied to the inner walls of small to medium diameter pipes. This type of liner is typically applied centrifugally by using specialized equipment which ensures that the mortar is evenly distributed on the host pipe’s interior.
Cement liners are effective for corrosion protection, structural damage repair and leak protection.
Cement mortar liners are classified as structural liners since the hardened end result creates another pipe within the host pipe. The mortar lining possesses structural properties that help to bolster the physical properties of the host pipe resulting in increased overall stiffness and flexural strength.
Cement mortar liners are an effective trenchless end to end rehabilitation method since the entire length of the host pipe can be repaired, restored or rehabilitated without removing or demolishing the existing pipe structure.
